Man robbed, assaulted in student housing apartment complex, Columbia police say

A 20-year-old man living at a Columbia student housing complex was robbed and assaulted after trying to sell an electronic cigarette on social media, according to a statement from the Columbia Police Department.

The man was trying to sell a Juul electronic cigarette when he was contacted by two suspects online, according to the statement. The group agreed to meet at the man’s apartment at The Hub Saturday.

The two suspects showed up at the complex and repeatedly assaulted the man, according to the statement. They allegedly also stole the Juul, a pod pack, a phone and cash.

Police released photos of the suspects Wednesday in hopes of identifying them.
