Security guard stabbed at Richland club — then another stabbing victim showed up, cops say

Deputies are investigating the stabbings of two people at a northeast Columbia nightclub early Sunday.

Richland County deputies responded just after 3 a.m. to the R&B Club just off the 9300 block of Two Notch Road, according to the sheriff’s department. They found a security guard who had been stabbed in the lower body.

The guard told deputies a fight broke out inside the bar, and that he was stabbed while trying to break it up. He was taken to a local hospital, deputies said.

While officers were still at the club, another person arrived at a local hospital with multiple stab wounds, deputies said. That victim said he was stabbed after several people jumped on him outside the same club.

No arrests have been made, and there was no word on possible suspects. Deputies say the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 888-CRIME-SC. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
