Police have arrested the man they say reached under bathroom stalls in an attempt to fondle women in buildings on the University of South Carolina campus.

Travis Savon McKie, 21, was arrested Monday, the USC Police Department said. He is in the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on four counts of second-degree assault and battery, jail records show.

The incidents happened April 22 at the Jones Physical Science Building on the 700 block of Main Street and the Hamilton College Building on the 1500 block of Pendleton Street, police have said. A man entered the women’s restrooms at both buildings and reached under the stall dividers in an attempt to fondle the women while they were in adjoining stalls.

McKie has no prior criminal record in South Carolina, according to State Law Enforcement Division records.

Second-degree assault and battery is a misdemeanor that carries up to three years in prison for each charge, under South Carolina law.
