Armed robber, accomplice sought after Lexington drug store heist
Police are searching for a man who robbed a Lexington pharmacy at gunpoint early Thursday.
The robbery happened just before 3 a.m. at the CVS Pharmacy on Sunset Boulevard, the Lexington Police Department said in a release.
The robber entered the store and presented a handgun along with a list of prescription medications to be given to him, police said. He also took several of the store employees’ cellphones before fleeing.
Police say the robber left the store in a white Kia Optima driven by an unknown accomplice. The victims’ cellphones were found discarded nearby, and the white Kia was found a short time later in Columbia. The car had been stolen before the robbery.
Investigators described the robber as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, about 5-foot-7 and weighing 125 to 140 pounds. He was wearing a green VANS hooded sweatshirt, orange pants with white stripes down the leg and black and white tennis shoes. He had long black hair that may have been partially woven in dreads.
Anyone with information about the identity of the robber or his accomplice is asked to call the Lexington Police Department at 803-358-1557.
