A Lexington man was killed after being hit by a car Thursday night, according to a statement from the Lexington County Coroner’s office.
Kevin C. Jones, 46, was walking near the 4200 block U.S. 1 in Gilbert at about 10:15 p.m. when he was struck, according to the statement.
The driver of the car stopped to help Jones, according to the statement. The driver was not injured, but Jones died at the scene of the accident.
The incident is being investigated by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
