Richland County deputies investigating drive-by shooting at northwest Columbia home

Richland County deputies responded to a drive-by shooting at a northwest Columbia home Monday afternoon.

Deputies were called to a home in the 2400 block of Pelican Drive around 1 p.m. Monday afternoon, according to Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. Kevin Lawrence. A man told police he was standing in his yard when a dark in color sedan drove by and fired multiple shots.

The victim was struck in the upper and lower body, Lawrence said. He was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
