Woman killed in Friday shooting in Columbia

A 57-year-old woman has died after a Friday shooting, according to the Columbia Police Department.

The woman, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, according to the police department.

The shooting happened in the 4100 block of Marsteller Street, just off North Main Street near Hyatt Park Elementary School, police shared in a tweet a little before 1 p.m. Friday.

Police said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident.

An autopsy on the victim will be conducted Saturday, police said.
