Man seen in video on home’s front porch may be tied to violent Richland home invasion

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has released a video of a person of interest in a violent home invasion earlier this month.

On Dec. 13, two men entered a home on Ironweed Court, an area directly behind Rice Creek Elementary School on Hardscrabble Road. The men reportedly made their way inside the home through an unlocked door.

Once inside, one man held the homeowner at gunpoint while the other took five firearms from a bedroom. Both men then fled the area on foot.

In the video from a home security system, an unidentified man can be seen walking up to a front door and knocking. He turns and walks away when no one answers.

Anyone who can identify the man is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC (274-6372).
