Richland deputy arrested after altercation with his wife

A Richland County deputy has been suspended without pay after being arrested in Lexington County after an altercation with his wife.

Rodney Davis, 42, was charged with criminal domestic violence after being arrested at about 2 p.m. Saturday, at his Thornehill Road home in Lexington County, Sheriff Leon Lott said in a statement.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called in reference to a domestic dispute between Davis and his wife, Lott said. The sheriff said no injuries were reported.

Lott said Davis, a deputy with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department for about eight years, has been suspended without pay.

Davis was taken to the Lexington County Detention Center.
