Man kidnapped, sexually assaulted woman walking on Lexington Co. road, sheriff says

A man is in jail after he kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman walking down a Lexington County road, the Lexington County sheriff’s department said.

Samuel Aaron, 52, is charged with criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and strong armed robbery.

Aaron offered the woman a ride as she was walking down South Lake Drive on Jan. 9, according to the sheriff’s department. He then drove her to a wooded area on the 500 block of Bluefield Road and sexually assaulted her, sheriff’s deputies said. He then allegedly stole jewelry from the woman as well.

After an investigation, deputies arrested Aaron for the crime on Wednesday.

“Detectives identified Aaron and the vehicle he was driving by reviewing surveillance video recorded the day of the incident,” said Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon.

He is being held on a $310,000 bond.
