Teen killed in Lexington County wreck Friday night
A teenager is dead after a wreck in Gaston, according to the coroner’s office.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the victim as 19-year-old Barron Lorel Adams, the driver of a vehicle in the fatal incident that happened at about 11:20 p.m. Friday on U.S. 321.
Adams drove southbound on the highway when he veered off the left side of the road near Woodtrail Drive, Fisher said in a statement. He struck a utility pole. Paramedic pronounced Adams dead at the scene.
He was not wearing a seat belt, according to Fisher.
The Gaston Police Department is investigating the wreck.
