Armed and extremely dangerous teen wanted in Richland County, sheriff says

A manhunt is underway for a teenager the Richland County Sheriff’s Department called “armed and extremely dangerous.”

The sheriff’s department is asking for the public’s help in locating Travis Walters, Jr., who is wanted for multiple violent crimes, according to a news release.

The 18-year-old was involved with a home invasion on March 5 in the 500 block of Beltline Boulevard, it said in the release. That’s near the intersection with Bluff Road in Columbia, close to the junction with Interstate 77.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Walters for three counts of kidnapping, armed robbery, and first-degree burglary, the sheriff’s department said.

Anyone who sees Walters should not approach him, but instead call 911.

Those with information about Walters are asked to call 911 or report it to CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or submit an online tip.
