Bullets shot into SC woman’s home after phone call threatening family, 1 man charged

A South Carolina man is facing charges after sheriff’s deputies say he fired into a woman’s home last month.

Gerard Waymyers, 35, of Cordova, is facing attempted murder and criminal conspiracy charges.

The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office accused Waymyers after deputies were called to the scene of a shooting in Norway on May 15. Several shell casings were collected from in front of the house, deputies said.

A woman said she was home alone when she heard multiple gunshots around 1 p.m., and reported seeing a blue car leaving the area. She also told deputies she had received a phone call earlier threatening to kill a member of her family.

Information from witnesses led to Waymyers’ arrest. He was given a $70,000 bond.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said Waymyers’ alleged actions showed, “A total disregard for life, as if life doesn’t matter at all.”
