13-year-old dies after being stabbed, Columbia Police say

A teenager died after being stabbed Tuesday, the Columbia Police Department said.

The 13-year-old was taken to an area hospital, where he later died, police said on Twitter.

The stabbing happened at about 3:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of Ardincaple Drive, by the intersection with Falling Springs Road, according to police. That’s close to River Drive, a little more than a mile from Earlewood Park, and near Prisma Health Richland hospital.

At least two young males were involved in the stabbing, police tweeted.

Two people have been detained for questioning, but no arrests or charges have been reported by police.
