Manhunt for armed and dangerous man wanted in Richland County shooting, sheriff says
A manhunt is underway in Richland County, where the sheriff’s department said it is searching for an armed and dangerous man who was involved in a shooting.
Antoni Lawrence, 44, is wanted on an attempted murder charge, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday in a news release.
Lawrence is connected to a Sept. 8 shooting at the Shandon Crossing apartment complex, according to the release. The apartments are at 504 South Beltline Blvd., near the intersection with Rosewood Drive and a mile from Devine Street.
Deputies responded to a shots fired call at the apartment complex and found a man laying on his back near South Beltline Boulevard suffering from a gun shot in the lower body, the sheriff’s department said.
Information on the man’s condition was not available.
There was no word on what led to the shooting.
Anyone who sees Lawrence should not approach him, and instead call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or submit an online tip.
There are multiple drug charges and other crimes pending against Lawrence following a July 19 arrest, Richland County court records show.
