Four charged after shooting leaves man in the hospital, Columbia police say
One man was taken to an area hospital Thursday and four others were arrested following a shooting, the Columbia Police Department said.
The shooting, reported by police at 11:15 a.m., happened in the 4700 block of Linden Street, which is near the intersection with North Main Street/U.S. 321, between Columbia College and Eau Claire High School.
A 37-year-old man was injured and was in stable condition, police spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons told The State. Further information on his condition was not made available.
Chardae N. Collins, 36, Breandre T. Douglas, 31, Terriasia L. L. Jones, 28, and Justin L. Jones, 26, were each charged with attempted murder and first-degree burglary, police said.
Douglas and Justin Jones are still being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County after their bonds were denied, jail records show.
They, along with the two women, are accused of forcing their way inside the victim’s apartment and assaulting him, police said. During the altercation, a member of the foursome shot the victim, according to police.
Police said the shooting stemmed from an argument among acquaintances.
The shooting was considered an isolated incident, according to police.
