Columbia police arrest two in shooting near Williams-Brice stadium

One man was injured in a shooting on Bluff Road Friday afternoon, according to Columbia police.

Saturday, police charged two men in the shooting.

The Columbia Police Department charged 20-year-old Tunjay Sefers Jr. and 21-year-old Dionte Vaughn with attempted murder.

The shooting happened at a gas station on the 900 block of Bluff Road, just across from the State Fairgrounds and Williams-Brice Stadium. That’s in the same area as apartment complexes that are popular with University of South Carolina students.

The man was shot in the foot, hospitalized and is expected to live, the Columbia Police Department said.

Sefers and Vaughn were acquainted with the victim and had an ongoing conflict leading up to the shooting, the department said.

The two were jailed at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and awaiting a bond hearing as of Saturday afternoon.
