Two Columbia firefighters arrested, suspended in separate incidents
Two Columbia firefighters have been suspended after they were arrested in two separate incidents, according to department officials.
Chief Aubrey Jenkins said Jimmy Barker III was charged with driving under the influence in Hinesville, G.A. on June 25. Barker held the rank of firefighter and has been with the department since Dec. 9, 2013.
Jenkins also said senior firefighter Arnold Burrows Jr. was charged with criminal domestic violence by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday. Burrows has been with the department since Oct. 14, 2013.
Both firefighters will remain on will remain on suspension pending investigation.
