Orangeburg County investigators searching for missing Elloree man

Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office officials are requesting the public’s assistance in locating an Elloree man who was last reported being seen by his family members two weeks ago.

Richard Walker, a sheriff’s office spokesman, said 53-year-old John Edward Martin was reported missing by family members on June 19 after they had not seen him for a week. Martin’s family told investigators they became concerned about Martin’s whereabouts after he had not shown up to work.

Walker said Martin’s family have checked local hospitals and detention centers but still have not found any trace of Martin. Martin’s sister told investigators that he has never gone missing like this before.

Martin is described as a black male standing 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds.
