St. Andrews man walking to bus for work shot dead, suspects sought

Richland County authorities are looking for two people responsible for the shooting death of a man walking to the bus Thursday morning.

Deputies responding to a call at 6:45 am Thursday found the unnamed victim, shot in the upper body and lying in the road on the 1300 block of Longcreek Drive (off Broad River Road), Sheriff Leon Lott said in a news release. The victim was pronounced dead at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital.

He was “walking to the bus stop as he does everyday to go to work, when he was approached by the suspects who shot him in an apparent armed robbery,” Lott said.
