Sumter man charged with sexually assaulting 11-year-old

Sumter authorities have charged 22- year-old Ternell Tindall with criminal sexual conduct with a minor after an 11-year-old girl complained to a parent.

The unidentified minor was taken to a local hospital for a physical examination after telling her parent that the accused “had taken advantage of her sexually on multiple occasions during the past weekend,” the sheriff’s department said in a news release.

Tindall was being taken to the Sumter-Lee Detention Center Tuesday night to await a bond hearing.
