The woman shot and killed in a Wednesday night shooting in Kershaw County has been identified.

Jordan Privette, 20, died after the shooting in Bethune, the Kershaw County Coroner’s Office has confirmed. Her autopsy will be performed at 1:30 p.m. Friday.

A man who was shot in the same incident remained in critical condition late Thursday, the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. That victim has not been identified.

“This is still an active investigation,” Sheriff Lee Boan said in a statement. “We will release more information as it becomes available. Our intent is to release facts, not assumptions. Please be patient as facts do not always come quickly.”

Sheriff’s deputies responded to an overnight shooting late Wednesday in which Privette was killed and another man was critically injured.

Deputies responded to the shooting at Wateree Grove Lane in Bethune, the sheriff’s office said at about 10 p.m. Wednesday in a news release.

No other injuries were reported.

There was no word on a motive for the shooting, or if more than one person fired a gun.

No arrests have been reported, but the sheriff’s office said it doesn’t believe anyone involved in the shooting is “at large.”

“We do not feel there are any threats to the community at this time,” the sheriff’s office said.

In addition to the sheriff’s office and coroner’s office, the shooting is being investigated by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
