Richland County deputies searching for burglary suspect

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted for two counts of burglary.

Sheriff Leon Lott said on June 29, 46-year-old Rodney Manley allegedly entered the residence of a 65-year-old woman located in the 8400 block of Monticello Road between Monticello Trail and Dipsy Do Road and stole several valuables with an estimated total of $6,000 and a handgun.

Manley was captured on video surveillance equipment attempting to pawn the stolen items, according to Lott.

Lott said Manley allegedly broke into the home a second time on Tuesday by smashing a kitchen window with a large rock.

When Manley entered the victim’s bedroom and saw the victim. She demanded that Manley leave, and he fled the residence. The victim then called law enforcement.
