A Lexington High School student has been charged with making threats against other students at the school.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department released a brief statement Thursday evening announcing the arrest of the unnamed student, who was described as making “direct” threats.

The student “exhibited behavior that concerned a fellow student,” deputies said.

The student’s name is not being released as they are under the age of 18, according to Capt. Adam Myrick, a sheriff’s department spokesperson.

The student has been transported for holding at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice and will appear Lexington County Family Court at a later date.
