Two people hurt in early morning shooting at gas station, Columbia police say

Two people were injured Thursday in an early morning shooting at a gas station, the Columbia Police Department said.

The shooting happened at about 5 a.m. at the Spinx convenience store at 7232 Garners Ferry Road, according to police. That’s near Exit 9 on Interstate 77, in an area densely populated with restaurants, hotels and other businesses.

Information about the shooting was not available.

Two males were hurt, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, police said. Further information on their conditions was not available.

There was no word on a shooter, or shooters, or any motive for the gunfire.

No arrests have been reported by police, who are investigating the shooting. Officers have collected evidence and are checking to see if surveillance cameras recorded the shooting, according to police.
