A 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at Gable Oaks Apartments, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on July 9, police were called to the apartment complex at 901 Colleton St. for a reported shooting, where they found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound and no signs of life. The Richland County Coroner’s Office identified him as Victor D. Glover.

The teen was charged Monday morning with murder, armed robbery, unlawful carry of a pistol, possession of a pistol by a person under the age of 18 and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to Columbia Police Chief W.H. “Skip” Holbrook. The suspect has been taken to the juvenile section of the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Police said they believe the teen met the victim for a prearranged drug deal.
