A South Carolina man has been charged with illegal gambling after the S.C. Law Enforcement Division discovered and seized eight gaming machines, according to affidavits.

On July 20, SLED agents executed a search warrant and seized the “Pot O Gold” machines offering poker, keno and blackjack at 1012 Cermack St. in northeast Columbia, according to the affidavits.

SLED charged the property owner, 66-year-old Randy Wigfall, with unlawful games and betting and eight counts of unlawful possession and operation of a gambling device on Aug. 25, according to a news release.

Wigfall was booked at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Once permitted in South Carolina, video gambling was criminalized in the early 2000s, according to Strom Law.
