Lexington County coroner identifies woman killed in crash

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a female pedestrian who was struck and killed on the side of Jim Spence Road in Lexington County on Friday morning.

The victim has been identified as Carrie Sabrina Isenhower, according to a statement released from the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.

At approximately 7:55 a.m., Isenhower was walking west, against traffic, on the eastbound shoulder of the rural Jim Spence Road, roughly five miles north of Pelion.

She was then struck by a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer on the 1800 block of Jim Spence Road. Isenhower, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries from the collision, according to the coroner’s office.

Authorities say that the driver of the truck, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, was not injured and stayed at the scene.

The collision is also under investigation by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
