Richland County Sheriff’s Office says 9-year-old girl who went missing has been found safe

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office says a missing 9-year-old girl was found safely Saturday.

Xionah Vaughn went missing early Saturday morning. The sheriff’s office posted on Facebook that she was located Saturday evening.

Xionah went missing about 1 a.m. Saturday at her home on the 4500 block of Sheraton Road, which is off of Bluff Road in southeast Richland County.

A department spokesperson said that they could not say yet whether a crime was suspected. Speaking to The State, the spokesperson said that when the mother arrived home in the early hours of Saturday morning, she found that her daughter was gone.

The sheriff’s office did not release any additional information about where Xionah was found.

“We appreciate everyone’s concern,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
