Three men arrested after multiple people were shot in Lexington County, sheriff says
Three people were sent to the hospital following a Saturday afternoon shooting, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said. On Monday, the sheriff’s department said three men, including one of the victims, were arrested.
The people involved all know each other, according to the sheriff’s office, which said the shooting in the 4600 block of U.S. 321 was an isolated incident. That’s in the Gaston area.
Gaston residents Carl Randel Coleman, 47, and Little Johnny Wilson, 44, each were charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, the sheriff’s department said in Monday’s news release. Coleman was also charged with two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm at a person.
Anton Bernard Coleman, a 43-year-old Orangeburg County resident, was charged with pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, according to the release.
Information about any possible relation between the Colemans was not available.
“Detectives on this case have determined it all started with a civil dispute at a home in the 200 block of Oak Turn Lane in Gaston (about 3 miles from the 4600 block on U.S. 321) earlier Saturday,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said in the release. “According to statements gathered at the scene, the disagreement centers on people involved in a romantic relationship.”
Anton Coleman was one of the three people injured in the shooting, according to the release. Anton Coleman and two others were taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds. Coleman was arrested Sunday after he was discharged, the sheriff’s department said.
Further information on the conditions of the other victims was not available.
Anton Coleman, Carl Coleman, and Wilson were taken to the Lexington County Detention Center, according to the release. Of the three, only Anton Coleman is currently listed on the inmate roster, and no bond has been set, jail records show.
Information about Carl Coleman and Wilson’s bond status was not available.
