Second Columbia Dollar General robbed at gunpoint within days

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the community’s help in locating and identifying a suspect wanted for armed robbery.

The suspect is accused of robbing a Dollar General, at 7143 Broad River Road on July 15, Sheriff Leon Lott said in a statement released Wednesday.

Another Dollar General at 1563 Broad River Rd was robbed on July 11.

The man then presented a gun and demanded money from a store employee. He then stole cash from the register and fled, Lott said.

The suspect, who was caught on video surveillance, is described as a black male standing 6 feet tall. He was wearing a red T-shirt, dark colored pants and a red and black baseball cap.
