Cayce man charged with child pornography
State and local authorities arrested a 65-year-old Cayce man Wednesday following an interstate child pornography investigation.
Fritz Edward Neiger was charged with seven counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson said in a news release.
Neiger’s arrest followed an investigation that began in Cary, N.C., by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Cary police contacted South Carolina authorities after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children identifying Neiger’s residence in Cayce as the source of an email account used to distribute “images depicting children engaged in sexual activity.”
Computers and related media were seized during a search of Neiger’s home on Thursday.
Neiger was being held at the Lexington County Detention Center Thursday afternoon on $70,000 bond.
