Richland County deputy charged with domestic violence, fired from department
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has fired a sheriff’s deputy who was charged with criminal domestic violence.
Department officials said Rodney Davis, 42, was fired on July 1 after he was charged with criminal domestic violence at his Thornehill Road home in Lexington County on June 13.
Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called in reference to a domestic dispute between Davis and his wife, Sheriff Leon Lott said. The sheriff said no injuries were reported.
Davis, a deputy with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department for about eight years, was initially suspended without pay.
