Richland County Sheriff’s Department looking armed-robbery suspect

Provided

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the community’s help in locating a suspect wanted for strong armed robbery.

A man entered the Family Dollar at 8374 Wilson Boulevard at 10 a.m. on Tuesday and pretended to purchase an item, Sheriff Leon Lott said in a statement released Wednesday. When an employee opened the register, the suspect pushed the employee to the floor and stole the cash.

The employee was taken to Palmetto Health Richland with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a clean-shaven black male of medium build, Lott said. He was wearing a black ball cap, sunglasses, a gold chain and a black football jersey with the number 41. He fled in a small, blue SUV.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
