Orangeburg County deputies take homicide investigation suspect into custody

Orangeburg County deputies have taken a man into custody who they believe is connected to a domestic-related homicide Wednesday evening.

Richard Walker, a sheriff’s office spokesman, said 24-year-old Malcolm Jamar Williams was taken into custody Thursday morning. Williams was believed to be armed and dangerous.

Walker said deputies were called to a location on Bricin Drive Wednesday evening where an individual was found deceased. There was no further information available regarding the circumstances that led up to the person’s death. The victim has not yet been identified.

Walker said after a preliminary investigation of the location, deputies believed Williams was connected to the victim’s death.
