Search ends for Lexington woman who was missing for more than a week, SC police say

UPDATE: On Nov. 18, Lexington police said the woman was located and was in good health. Police didn’t say when and where she was found, but thanked members of the public who provided information that aided their investigation.

Lexington police are looking for a woman who has been missing for almost two weeks.

The woman was last seen on Nov. 4 when she was released from the Lexington County Detention Center. The woman, 29, is originally from Ohio and has no known residence in the Lexington area, police said in an X post asking for the public’s help in locating the woman.

She has a history of “severe paranoid schizophrenia,” and it is unknown if she was currently taking her prescribed medication. She may be staying in hotels or with someone she befriended in the area.

The woman was wearing all black when she left the detention center, Lexington police said. Detective Matthews at 803-358-7262 or jmatthews@lexsc.gov.
