1 person injured in shooting in downtown Columbia near USC. Police look for information

A man was found injured in downtown Columbia near the University of South Carolina’s School of Law, the Columbia Police Department announced.

A man was found injured in downtown Columbia near the University of South Carolina’s School of Law, the Columbia Police Department announced.

Just before 7 p.m. Friday, officers were called to the 1700 black of Gervais Street for a shooting, police said. An injured man was found outside and taken to a hospital by EMS.

Investigators are trying to figure out what happened.
