Body was found in a South Carolina hotel, officials trying to discover what happened

A South Carolina man’s body was found in a Lowcountry hotel Monday, according to the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office.

At about noon, the coroner’s office was called to the Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Sangaree after a dead man was discovered, the coroner’s office said in a news release. That’s about 23 miles north of Charleston.

The man was identified as 49-year-old Summerville resident Cory Lamont Moore, according to the release.

An autopsy will be conducted to help determine Moore’s cause of death, the coroner’s office said.

There was no word if foul play was suspected in Moore’s death, and his manner of death was not announced by the coroner’s office.

The death continues to be investigated by the coroner’s office along with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.
