Former South Carolina police officer was arrested. Here’s what landed him behind bars
A former police officer was arrested Wednesday on an indecent exposure charge, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Cornelius Jacques Barr, a 43-year-old Dillon resident, was booked into the Dillon County Detention Center, SLED said in a news release.
The incident happened Tuesday at the City of Dillon Wellness Center, according to an arrest warrant.
Barr “did willfully expose his penis to a female victim multiple times,” the arrest warrant said.
Barr is accused of flashing the victim as he stood in the doorway of a sauna, and she took videos on her cellphone, according to the arrest warrant.
Barr was arrested after SLED interviewed both the former police officer and the victim, and reviewed pictures and videos, the arrest warrant said.
The SLED investigation was requested by the Dillon Police Department.
There was no word if Barr was fired, or if he resigned from the police department.
The case will be prosecuted by the 4th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
If convicted on the misdemeanor indecent exposure charge, Barr faces a maximum punishment of 3 years in prison and a fine, according to South Carolina law.
