Five people arrested as drugs, gun, thousands in cash and more are seized, SC cops say

Five people were arrested Tuesday on an array of charges following a search at a South Carolina home, according to the Springdale Police Department.

Two of the people arrested are teenagers, police said Wednesday in a news release.

Springdale officers assisted members of the Columbia Police Department in a search of a Lexington County home in the 2800 block of Kirkwood Drive, according to the release. That’s in Springdale, near Platt Springs Road, and less than 2 miles from Exit 111 on Interstate 26.

During the search, officers recovered stolen goods — including a stolen rifle — as well as numerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, police said. Officers also confiscated more than $43,000 in cash, according to the release.

Anthony Scott Hudson Jr., 32, Christa Breeann Paxton, 26, Daniel Joseph Reichert, 41, as well as 19-year-olds Kayleigh Marie Montville and Keegan Brock Arcand were arrested, police said.

Other than Hudson, they were booked at the Lexington County Detention Center. Of those four, only Paxton, whose bond was set at $14,000 on combined charges, is still listed on the jail’s inmate roster.

Hudson was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County to face separate charges from Columbia police. Bond was set at $29,250 on the combined dozen fraud-related charges, and he remains behind bars in the Richland County detention center, jail records show.

He’s scheduled to appear in a Richland County court again April 25, judicial records show.

Following his release from the Columbia jail, Hudson is scheduled to be transferred to the Lexington County Detention Center where he’ll be charged with five counts of possession of a Schedule IV narcotic, four counts of possession of a Schedule II narcotic, along with single counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, receiving stolen goods, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon as well as possession of drug paraphernalia, Springdale police said.

Paxton was charged with five counts of possession of a Schedule IV narcotic (3rd Offense), four counts of possession of a Schedule II narcotic (3rd Offense), along with single counts of possession of meth (3rd Offense) and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the release.

Both Montville and Arcand were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. There was no word about either Montville or Arcand’s bond.

Reichert was wanted by another agency and was taken to the Lexington County Detention Center, before being transported to the other agency, according to the release. Information about why Reichert was wanted, and where, was not available.
