Man found dead inside Greenwood home. Homicide suspected, police say
Police are investigating a homicide that left one man dead in a Greenwood home, according to the Greenwood County Coroner’s Office.
The man, identified as 24-year-old Johnny Frank Covington III, was found dead by Greenwood police inside a residence located at 121 Balsam Lane in Greenwood on Saturday around 9:15 a.m., a news release said. He suffered a single gunshot wound.
While Covington’s manner of death was ruled a homicide, his cause of death is still under investigation, according to the coroner’s office. No additional information was available.
