Woman found shot dead in Columbia apartment identified by coroner’s office
A 22-year-old woman was found shot to death inside an apartment in Columbia, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
The shooting occurred at Greenbrier Apartments off of Willow Oak Drive Wednesday afternoon, deputies say. The victim has been identified as Anaya Q. Herndon of Columbia, according to the Richland County Coroner’s Office.
At around 2 p.m., deputies found Herndon dead inside an apartment.
While deputies took a nearby unidentified suspect into custody, they are still investigating the shooting and no charges have yet been brought against the suspect.
