Former SC probation officer charged after engaging in sex with several victims, SLED says
A former special agent with the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon services abused his authority by engaging in sexual acts with several women on probation, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
DeMichaelas Shaquell Daniels, 32, was charged Monday with three counts of first degree sexual misconduct with an inmate, patient or offender, and two counts of misconduct in office, according to a news release.
Between October 2023 and December 2024, while employed as a S.C. probation, parole and pardon services special agent, Daniels abused his authority to solicit and coerce sexual contact with several female victims on probation and for whom he had supervisory responsibility, according to multiple arrest warrants.
In one instance, Daniels exposed his gentiles to a woman he was responsible for supervising. He then grabbed her rear before turning off his body-worn camera and engaging in oral sex with the woman while he was in uniform, an arrest warrant said. The offense occurred in Newberry County.
On another occasion, Daniels had sexual intercourse four times with a woman — twice in his department office and twice in his department vehicle — while in uniform, according to an arrest warrant.
He also had oral sex with yet another female victim between March and October 2024, an arrest warrant said.
Daniels was booked into the Newberry County Detention Center.
