‘Evildoers’ warned by South Carolina sheriff that deputies are coming, following shooting

A South Carolina man was arrested Monday, about a month after a shooting, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Jervonte Danzell Flowers, a 32-year-old Sumter resident, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

An arrest warrant was issued for Flowers March 3, days after the shooting, according to the release.

On Feb. 28, Flowers and the victim were engaged in an argument in front of the victim’s home, resulting in the victim being shot, the sheriff’s office said.

Information on the victim’s condition was not available. No other injuries were reported.

There was no word about why Flowers and the victim were arguing, or if they knew each other prior to the gunfire.

On Tuesday morning, deputies and members of the U.S. Marshals Service executed arrest warrants at a Louella Lane home, where Flowers was taken into custody, the sheriff’s office said.

He was then taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where he was denied bond, according to the release.

“There are countless good, honest, and hardworking people in Sumter,” Sheriff Anthony Dennis said in the release. “But those evildoers who threaten our safety and defame our county will never know a day when they are not looking over their shoulders because we are coming for them.”
