Woman is arrested after a teenager was shot in Columbia, SC police say

A teenager was shot Monday at an apartment complex in South Carolina and a woman is in jail, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Christina Davis, 21, was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature in addition to possession of a weapon during a violent crime, police said Tuesday.

The shooting happened Monday at about 1:30 p.m., according to police. Officers responded to the shooting at Arrington Place Apartments in the 1700 block of Van Heise Street, police said. That’s in the area between Two Notch Road and West Beltline Boulevard.

Davis and a 17-year-old male acquaintance were arguing when the shooting happened, according to police. There was no word why Davis and the teen were arguing.

Davis’ address is also in Columbia, less than 2 miles from the apartment complex, according to Richland County court records.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition Tuesday, according to police. Further information on his condition was not available.

No other injuries were reported.

No bond has been set for Davis, who is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, jail records show.

Following a bond hearing, Davis is scheduled to return to court on the charges on June 27, Richland County judicial records show.
