Man arrested for exposing himself in child’s section of bookstore, SC police say
Columbia police announced they had identified and arrested a man accused of committing an inappropriate act in the children’s section of a prominent bookstore.
34-year-old Dominique Cockfield faces charges of indecent exposure charge and criminal solicitation of a minor, police said. The Columbia Police Department noted that he is a registered sex offender in South Carolina.
The incident happened in early May at the Barnes & Noble bookstore at 6090 Garners Ferry Road, according to police. That’s in Columbia’s Shoppes at Woodhill shopping center, near Exit 9 on Interstate 77.
“He’s accused of exposing himself to a child in the Barnes & Noble bookstore,” police posted to social media.
Police shared surveillance photos of a flashing suspect earlier in May, asking anyone with information to reach out to the department.
Cockfield is out of jail on a $50,000 surety bond, police said.
