A 27-year-old man faces an attempted murder charge for a shooting near Kenmore Park Drive, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office said.

Khalil Davis is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on a $150,000 surety bond after being charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent offense, possession of body armor by a violent felon and trafficking fentanyl.

The sheriff’s office said an off-duty deputy heard a gunshot about 10:50 a.m. April 27 near Kenmore Park Drive and found a victim with an upper body gunshot wound.

A vehicle then sped away and the off-duty deputy called for additional help.

The sheriff’s office said it found the vehicle that fled the scene after reviewing video footage in the area. Deputies searched the vehicle for evidence of the shooting. An investigation found a dispute between the victim and Davis took place before Davis shot the victim, the sheriff’s office said.
