Help wanted in search for missing man with prosthetic leg, SC cops say
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is renewing efforts to find a man who disappeared more than 6 years ago.
A search for Jimmy Sylvester Smoak is ongoing, SLED said in a news release.
Smoak was in his mid-forties when he was last seen in the Hampton County area in April 2019, according to the release. He would be 52 today, SLED said.
Further information about Smoak’s disappearance was not available.
Smoak, who is originally from Colleton County, has a prosthetic left leg starting at the knee, according to the release. Further information about a description was not available.
Smoak was known to frequent Hampton, Bamberg and Colleton counties, SLED said.
It was not clear if foul play is suspected in Smoak’s disappearance, but SLED said it is seeking information that could lead to an arrest.
