Sumter County Sheriff’s Office announces multiple arrests
Sumter County sheriff’s deputies have charged three suspects in three separate incidents on Thursday and Friday, according to sheriff’s office officials.
Braden Bunch, a sheriff’s office spokesman, said 22-year-old Terry Perkins Jr., of Sumter, was arrested on Friday following a warrant filed on Wednesday for domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. The warrant alleges that sometime between August 8 and August 9, Perkins allegedly threatened to kill his live-in girlfriend with a knife.
Bunch said 27-year-old Brittany “Martin” Boyd, of Sumter, was arrested on Thursday following a warrant filed on Tuesday for pointing and presenting a firearm at a person. The warrant alleges that Boyd unlawfully, and not in self-defense, pointed a firearm at a person on August 4.
Bunch said 68-year-old John Johnson, of Horatio, was arrested on Friday after a warrant was filed for receiving stolen goods valued at $2,000 or less. The warrant alleges that on Monday Johnson was in possession of a pistol and a rifle, valued at approximately $500, belonging to a victim. Johnson allegedly knew the firearms were stolen.
All suspects were transported to the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center.
