Missing teen could be with armed and dangerous man, South Carolina sheriff says

A search is underway for a man wanted on an attempted murder charge, and he could be with a missing teenager who’s considered endangered, according to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Corie Martinez, 20, is wanted following a July 31 shooting that left one person injured, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Further information on the victim’s condition was not available, and there was no word about what led to the shooting.

“(Martinez) should be considered armed and dangerous,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said in the release. “He could be in the company of a female who is considered missing and endangered.”

That female is 19-year-old Mary Virginia Dilling, the sheriff’s office said.

The Orangeburg County pair were last seen together July 31, and are believed to be in a white 2013 Kia Optima with a South Carolina license plate that reads “563-BRL,” according to the release. The vehicle is missing the front bumper, the sheriff’s office said.

Martinez was described as a 5-foot-8, 280-pound man, while the sheriff’s office described Dilling as a 5-6, 120-pound woman.

The sheriff’s office asked the public for help finding the wanted man and missing teen.

Anyone who has seen Martinez or Dilling, or has information about them is warned not to approach them but to call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 803-308-0986. Tips can also be submitted online.
